YaraPets came to Everythink with a registered patent and a functional prototype for an innovative cat litter box cleaning system. The mechanical principle was defined, but turning that invention into a real product required addressing a much broader set of challenges. It was necessary to understand the usage context, define functional and industrial requirements, and create a solution capable of balancing innovation, simplicity, and production viability.
Instead of jumping straight into product development, Everythink began the project with a research process that allowed us to validate assumptions, identify opportunities, and structure the criteria that would guide all subsequent decisions. The patent represented the starting point. Design would be the element capable of giving it form, meaning, and consistency as a product.

Designing a product for pets requires understanding both animal behavior and the routines of their caregivers. The research combined market analysis, in-context observation, interviews, and international surveys to understand how litter boxes were used, which aspects were most valued by caregivers, and why many existing solutions ultimately went unused.
The results revealed a clear challenge: users were looking for easier cleaning but were wary of systems that seemed overly complex. At the same time, the product had to integrate naturally into the home environment, reduce visual clutter, simplify daily maintenance, and provide a comfortable experience for the cat. The solution was to transform a technical mechanism into an intuitive, discreet product designed to fit into the household routine without requiring a learning curve or compromising functionality.

Based on these insights, Everythink led the entire product development process, from conceptual exploration to detailed engineering. We defined the formal principles, system architecture, components, materials, and production processes, ensuring structural robustness, ease of use, and compatibility with plastic injection molding.
The project evolved to a full state of manufacturing readiness, including geometric optimization, wall thickness definition, parting lines, draft analysis, mold specifications, and production engineering. More than just developing a new litter box, Everythink’s intervention focused on bridging the gap between a patent-protected invention and a product ready for mass production, demonstrating how design can serve as a true bridge between innovation and industry.
